Kyle Swicegood, CCIM, CAI, ALC, GPPA
Kyle has continued to increase his knowledge in real estate through postgraduate studies through the Commercial Real Estate Institute located in Chicago, IL, receiving the designation Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) in June of 2000. In October of 2005 he was awarded the ALC, Accredited Land Consultant designation in San Francisco, CA.
In 2013, Swicegood received the prestigious designation of Certified Auctioneer Institute, (CAI) at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. CAI designees pride themselves on being a part of
an extraordinary network of professional Auctioneers who possess the knowledge and skills needed to provide their clients with outstanding services. The CAI designation communicates to attorneys, trust officers, government officials, accountants and others affiliated with the auction industry that the CAI Auctioneer is committed to continuing education and is dedicated to professionalism and excellence in the auction profession.
Swicegood is also a Graduate Personal Property Appraiser (GPPA), as designated by the National Auctioneers Association. The National Auctioneers Association created the Graduate Personal Property Appraiser (GPPA) professional designation to provide Auctioneers with custom education that enhances their appraisal skills and knowledge. The GPPA program teaches students the responsibilities of being an appraiser and provides them advanced training in Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) guidelines.
Kyle has served on various civic positions. More pointedly, he is past President of the Davie County Board of Realtors in 1995. He is a past president of the Rotary Club of Mocksville, a member of the Winston Salem Regional Association of Realtors, the CCIM Institute, and the Realtor Land Institute. He also serves on the Salem Pregnancy Board of Directors.Kyle is well-versed in commercial, residential and land brokerage real estate. When Kyle’s not working hard in the real estate business, you’ll find him with his most important asset… his family. His wife Elizabeth has been beside him since he was 17 years old. He has two children, Ashton & Lewis.While he works exceedingly hard for his clients, his play time is equally exciting. You’ll find Kyle on the Missouri River north of Helena Montana in the spring during the season’s first hatch and in the winter time, he’ll be on skis out west.
Elizabeth Swicegood is a native to Denton County, Texas. After moving to North Carolina as a teenager, she graduated from Davie High School in 1986. She later graduated from Catawba College in Salisbury, NC with a Bachelors of Arts in Education and a Minor in Spanish. She later attended The University of North Carolina at Charlotte for her post graduate studies. In 1999 she graduated from the Dan Mohr School of Real Estate. Elizabeth has continued to increase her skill sets by becoming an auctioneer, graduating from the Nashville Auction School in 2015.
Elizabeth is fiercely dedicated to the highest level of professionalism, placing her clients needs at the pinnacle of all she does. The auction method has given her another outlet to serve in the field of real estate and beyond to include sales of personal property of all kinds. Using her skills in marketing and technology, Elizabeth is able to generate top results which far exceed her clients’ expectations; making The Swicegood Group a powerful force in the field of auctioneering.
Elizabeth has two grown children and a son in law. She married her high school sweetheart, Kyle in 1989. Both Elizabeth and Kyle are active supporters of many local charities such as Salem Pregnancy Care Center in Winston-Salem. Over the years they have traveled to foreign countries, volunteering with Operation Smile.
When Elizabeth’s not working hard in the real estate business, you’ll find her enjoying family activities like horseback riding, cycling or skiing in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Ashton Burton is a native to Davie County, North Carolina. After graduating from Davie High School in 2011, she attended Appalachian State University where she earned a bachelor degree in Public Relations. Since graduating from Appalachian, Ashton has acquired her Real Estate License as well as her Auctioneer License.
As a Millennial, Ashton brings a fresh awareness of current trends regarding up and coming home buyers. Her advanced approach to technology and how it interfaces with buyers and sellers gives The Swicegood Group, Inc. a distinct advantage. Ashton’s primary role focuses on marketing, digital advertising, and streamlining the closing process for the team. Along with assisting the brokerage team, Ashton plays a vital role in assisting Kyle Swicegood in his role as an Asset Manager for FDIC receivership assets.
Ashton is married to her high school sweetheart, Ben Burton. She is dedicated to her church and other philanthropies.
For fun, you’ll find Ashton relaxing with her husband, Ben and dog, Jack or snowboarding the slopes of Steamboat, Colorado. Although she is a proud ASU grad, she is an avid UNC (University of North Carolina) Fan.
Zach Johnson is a native to Rice Lake, Wisconsin. After graduating high school, he moved to North Carolina to pursue his passion of racing by becoming a NASCAR crew member. He spent 14 years chasing his racing dream working with NASCAR superstars such as Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Robby Gordon, Scott Riggs and Johnny Sauter to name a few. While racing, Zach also earned his degree in Criminal Justice and in 2011, he left the racing industry and became a sworn Law Enforcement Officer in the state of North Carolina. Although still currently certified as a Law Enforcement Officer, Zach acquired his Real Estate License and joined The Swicegood Group in a full-time capacity.
The Swicegood group benefits from Zach’s attention to detail and his competitive nature, both skills that were honed in his racing background. These skills are an asset to clients, as Zach always strives for perfection and always competes on behalf of his client for the client’s best interest. With Zach’s Law Enforcement background, he holds himself and his actions to a high standard of professionalism, integrity and fairness.
Zach and his wife, Casey, live in Hiddenite, NC. Their two children, James and Abigail, are their pride and joy and you will likely find the entire family enjoying each other’s company and working together around their small farm. Zach is also a NFL team owner. Well actually he owns a small share of stock in the Green Bay Packers organization, as the Packers are the only publically owned NFL franchise.
Becky Atkins Tarlton
Becky Tarlton is a native to Rowan County, North Carolina. She has been a full-time auctioneer for 31 years. She is an instructor for the Carolina Auction Academy. Becky was the 2003 Bid Calling Champion for the Auctioneer Association of North Carolina. Following in her father’s footsteps, Becky has broken barriers in the auction field and made history as the first female auto auctioneer in North Carolina. While her bid chant is powerful, Becky also brings a vast amount of experience and knowledge to the overall field of auctioneering. She provides excellent organizational skills to our personal property auctions by creating detailed catalogs with attention to best practices in the auction industry. Becky is second to none in her field. Well versed in the latest technology she can capture the highest and best values for the assets she is selling regardless of the category in which they may belong. Over her tenure as a professional auctioneer, Becky has literally sold it all at some point. Becky enjoys time with her family. She is active in her community and home church of Salisbury. One of her favorite past times is raising horses and miniature Australian shepherds. To know Becky is to have an instant friend. William Austin, MAI, AMM
William Austin (Andy) brings 10 years of commercial real estate appraisal experience and a lifelong interest in auctions. Andy is a licensed auctioneer, appraiser, and real estate salesperson in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, and the AMM designation from the National Auctioneers Association.
Andy's appraisal career began in 2005 at a small appraisal firm in Roanoke, VA until 2007 when he moved to a large private appraisal firm in Richmond. He formed his own company, Austin Appraisal & Consulting in 2012 and completed the MAI designation in 2013. Andy has completed appraisal assignments throughout Virginia for a broad range of property types including improved multi-family, retail, special-purpose, and industrial properties, high-value residential properties and vacant residential, industrial, and agricultural sites. Clients have included banks, attorneys, insurance companies, and private landowners.
In 2016, Andy obtained auctioneer licensure in Virginia and formed Double A Auction & Realty with a focus on real estate auctions. He is a member of the Virginia Auctioneers Association (VAA) and the National Auctioneers Association (NAA). He attended the AARE (Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate) course in December of 2016 and is currently completing the experience requirements for this designation. In 2018, he completed the requirements for the NAA's Auction Marketing Manager (AMM) designation. In addition to real estate and personal property auctions, he consults other auctioneers in live simulcast auctions.
Ron Helderman is a native of South Carolina. The son of a pastor, Ron lived in Columbia, Camden, Hampton and Charlestown before moving to Raleigh, North Carolina as a teenager where he graduated from Sanderson High school and then earned a marketing degree with a minor in religion from North Carolina State.
After college, Ron worked in the technology industry and then in the insurance industry for ten years. Ron has most recently been a stay at home father to his three children and has been married for twenty two years to Dr. Jennifer Helderman who is a physician at both Baptist and Forsyth hospitals.
Ron’s primary role focuses on residential property as well as corporate liquidations.
Ron has been a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he has sung and acted for the last eighteen years. In his spare time, you will find Ron cheering for the Wolfpack and coach the Calvary Day School middle school soccer team where his children attend.
