Swicegood Elected National Auction Association 77th Vice President

Davie County’s T. Kyle Swicegood, president and lead auctioneer of The Swicegood Group, has been elected as the 77th vice president of the National Auction Association (NAA) during the association’s annual conference and show held in San Antonio, Texas.

The election took place during the 77th International Auctioneers Conference and Show, where auction professionals from across the United States and around the world gathered to explore the latest innovations in auction technology, marketing, education, artificial intelligence and industry best practices. 

As vice president, Swicegood will serve on the National Auction Association’s Executive Committee under the leadership of President Mike Fisher, helping guide the strategic direction of the world’s largest professional organization dedicated to auction professionals.

“This is an incredible honor and a responsibility I accept with great humility,” said Swicegood. “The National Auction Association has had a tremendous impact on both my personal and professional life. I look forward to serving our members, strengthening our profession and helping ensure the auction method continues to thrive for future generations.”

Swicegood recently completed a three-year term on the National Auction Association Board of Directors, where he served alongside auction professionals from across North America. Throughout his volunteer leadership, he has also served as chair of the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI), Education Institute Chair, CAI Class Advisor, instructor and numerous committee assignments.

In addition to his national service, Swicegood is a governor-appointed commissioner on the North Carolina Auctioneer Licensing Board, where he helps oversee the regulation and licensing of auctioneers throughout the state. He serves as the co-chairman of this board.

The conference also showcased the auction industry’s premier competitions. The 2026 International Auctioneer Championship (IAC) crowned Cody Shelley of Burleson, Texas, as the Men’s International Auctioneer Champion and Carrie Hessney-Doran of Geneva, New York, as the Women’s International Auctioneer Champion. The competition recognizes excellence in bid calling, professionalism, communication, stage presence and industry ambassadorship. 

The conference also celebrated the next generation of auction professionals during the International Junior Auctioneer Championship (IJAC). Logan Snider of Enid, Oklahoma, was named the 2026 International Junior Auctioneer Champion after competing against a record field of talented young auctioneers from across the country. The IJAC recognizes outstanding youth who demonstrate excellence in bid calling, professionalism, communication and leadership while showcasing the future of the auction profession.
