Dr. Slate graduated from the University of Cape Town medical school in 1947, completed his internship in Cape Town and Durban, and then worked at Johannesburg Mission Hospital before spending a year in Lesotho. He also worked at New York University, George Washington University, and the Veteran's Administration. He was known in our community as Mayor Dr. Francis Slate, having served as the mayor of Mocksville for several years.

Swicegood, EI Chair and Board of Directors for NAA
T. Kyle Swicegood accepted a position on the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) as Education Institute (EI)Trustee and Board of Directors as the EI Chairman of the board. The Education Institute’s mission is to provide NAA members with top-line auction education including methodologies, technologies, and standards practices.
Johnson wins Certified Auctioneer Award
Zach Johnson, Broker & Auctioneer with The Swicegood Group, Inc. was awarded the coveted Pat Massart award for best proposal in Class II at the Certified Auctioneer Institute (CAI), a National Auctioneers Association (NAA) designation program at Indiana University.
